Business-cup popular for the 4th running
Holzwickede, 19 June 2012. The Montanhydraulik Business-Cup has by now become the region’s sporting highlight. On 16th June 2012 the football event was staged for the fourth time in Holzwickede. Contestants: 500 players made up 32 company teams from all over Germany, coming from as far afield as Frankfurt, Tornesch near Hamburg and Weißenfels, and made their way to the Holzwickede Stadium.
Rolf Unnerstall, Chairman of the organising sports club, SV Holzwickede, Mayor Jenz Rother and Dr. Peter Lipphardt, Managing Director at Montanhydraulik, opened the sporting event. “The triad of football, business and fun makes this event so very special for all that attend it. We are bringing companies, their decision-makers and the members of staff together. Networks, which also tend to produce business cooperation, have formed on the back of it. On top of this, it makes for a nice experience for the people in the region”, emphasises Rolf Unnerstall.
Encouraged by football-mad family, friends, and colleagues, the sportsmen and women fought very hard on four small football pitches for the trophy, secured in the end by the team from the Kracht GmbH based in Werdohl. Runner-up was the Böhm Kabeltechnik GmbH based in Iserlohn. The Montanhydraulik team this year made the last sixteen.
The trophy was awarded by two long-standing members from the Holzwickede sports club: Josef Klaus, 88 years of age and a member for 76 years, and Herbert Paschedag, hard on his heels as an HSV club member for 75 years.
Many companies have vouched to show up on the football pitch again next year. The date has been set already: 15th June 2013 – location as always - the Montanhydraulik stadium.
